Hot Honey and Chipotle Pork Pizza

This is the homemade pizza you’ll keep coming back to for birthday parties, lazy Sunday afternoons, and those random midweek cravings. Our Hot Honey and Chipotle Pork Pizza is a definite family favourite – winning on taste and ease!

Ingredients

350g lean pork mince (5% fat)
1-2 teaspoons chipotle paste
4 tablespoons tomato purée or tomato passata
1 small yellow or red pepper, deseeded and finely sliced
½ small onion, peeled and finely sliced
100g grated mozzarella or Cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano or dried mixed herbs
Hot honey, to drizzle
500g self-raising flour
Pinch of salt
500g carton low fat Greek-style yogurt

Method

Step 1

To prepare the pizza base, put the flour, salt, and yogurt in a large bowl. Mix well to form a soft, smooth dough. 

Step 2

Cut the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll out on a lightly floured work surface to the thickness of a £1 coin. Transfer each base to baking tray lined with non-stick baking parchment or foil. 

Step 3

In a medium bowl, mix together the mince and chipotle paste. Season with salt and pepper, if required.

Step 4

Spread the tomato purée or tomato passata over each pizza base with 50g of the cheeseAdd equal amounts of the mince, pepper, and onion. Sprinkle over the remaining cheese. 

Step 5

Preheat an air fryer to 200ºC for a few minutes and cook the pizza bases in batches for 5-8 minutes. 

Step 6

Alternatively, preheat the oven to 220ºC200ºC Fan, Gas Mark 7. Transfer the pizzas to a lined baking tray and cook in the oven for 10 minutes, until the pizzas are cooked through and the dough is golden brown. 

Step 7

Drizzle the pizzas with the hot honey and serve with an optional crisp salad and garlic bread.

Tips and Serving Suggestions

If preferred, mix a few tablespoons of prepared pesto with the passata and use as the pizza base.
