Pork and Nutrition

No single food contains all the nutrients we need for good health, so it is important to eat a wide variety of different foods each day

Pork is nutritious as well as tasty and can play an important role in a balanced diet. It is naturally rich in protein, low in sodium and provides ten essential vitamins and minerals* that contribute towards good health and wellbeing.

*Rich in thiamin, niacin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12 and a source of riboflavin, zinc, potassium, selenium phosphorus and pantothenic acid

Improvements in livestock breeding over the past 20 years have led to big reductions in the fat content of the pork we eat today. A lean cut of pork can contain as little as 4%.
