Celebrate Christmas with glorious gammon dishes from the experts at Love Pork

There is something about Christmas smells – from spicy cinnamon and cloves, to rich mulled wine or the refreshing pine from the Christmas tree. But for most of us nothing beats the incredible aroma from the kitchen. Joints roasting, mince pies baking and mouth-watering treats that taste even better than they smell.

TV personality, and Gammon fan, Anthea Turner, said: “For me there is nothing that conjures up the spirit of the Christmas season quite like the heavenly aroma of a big gammon joint roasting in the oven. My family love it, and I love that Gammon is so tasty and so versatile at the same time. Not only do you get an impressive roast but also the perfect ingredient to easily whip up a quick snack or dinner the next day, if you’re lucky to have any left over.

“I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to food, so I care about where my food comes from, that’s why I am encouraging you all to buy Quality Standard Mark Gammon this Christmas because it comes from animals reared to high welfare standards and is fully traceable. It also means of course that I’m supporting the farmers behind the Mark, and that’s important to me too”

For this Christmas the experts at Love Pork have created a new ‘Glorious Gammon’ recipe booklet combining all those favourite Christmas ingredients. So this Christmas why not try the Roasted Gammon with Ginger Beer, Ginger Glaze and Clementine Relish or for something a little richer the Cider Roasted Gammon with Calvados and Apple? Because Christmas isn’t Christmas without mulled wine, we have a dish which combines this firm favourite with cranberries and cinnamon to create a gorgeous mulled wine Roasted Gammon.

As we know Gammon is delicious hot or cold, so for those leftovers, there is the Gammon Tagine with Pomegranate and Parsley Couscous – much better than turkey curry! Or a spicy Thai Gammon Broth which takes just 30 minutes to make for a quick and easy snack. Bored with turkey sandwiches? Love Pork has the solution with the Gammon, Cranberry and Chestnut Tart and the Gammon, Chilli and Coriander Potato Salad.
